The music hall mmf 5.1 turntable is a two speed belt driven audiophile turntable employing the unique dual plinth construction originated by music hall. The distinctive design isolates the critical sound reproducing components; platter, main bearing, tonearm, and cartridge on the top platform from the motor, switch, wiring, and feet which are mounted on the bottom platform. Viso elastic cones separate the two platforms and provide vibration damping. The mmf 5.1 comes complete with cartridge mounted.
Our Comments:
Music HALL MMF-5.1 - If you envision at least one more Turntable in the timeline of your life, the MMF-5.1 makes an excellent choice. The glass platter and felt mat sit on a high quality stainless steel ball bearing sheathed in Teflon, for fluid, quiet operation.

The bottom line: The Music Hall MMF-5's high-style flair and impressive features are surpassed only by its sumptuous sound.
The only downsides to listening to records is the inevitable let down when you have to go back to compressed digital music. (CDs) The Music Hall MMF-5 may cost more than the Goldring GR 1.2 and much more than the entry-level Sony PS-LX250H, but it provides a much clearer sound than those two turntables and amazingly better quality than the best CD players. The Music Hall MMF-5 offers fine levels of detail and quietness. It has warm, deep, slightly woolly bass but deep with good impact, remarkably honest midrange and fast, articulate treble performance that errs, ever so slightly, to the brighter side of natural. But at a retail price of NZ$750, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to conclude that the MMF-5 represents one hell of a value. [review
