Quadral Argentum 330 bookshelf speakers 3w bass reflex 35Hz-45kHz 87db 6ohm
Original: NZ$ 975.00 (incl. GST) Saving: NZ$ 380.00 (incl. GST)
Before you get into the Quadral Argentum floorstanding loudspeaker range, consider the Argentum 330 Standmount / bookshelf speaker.
Very rare in their class: A speaker with three ways. Their midrange increases the transparency of the sound and it causes a greater inclusiveness towards two-way designs. Standing on a stand or shelf lying ARGENTUM 330 is suitable for excellent music and also for movie soundtracks in medium sized rooms up to 30 square meters.
Quadral Argentum 330 bookshelf speakers are a larger step-up from the Argentum 320, the best bookshelf model in Argentum range, a perfect choice for a meaty sound with your hi-fi or iPod system.
While these are fantastic speakers on their own, they can also be used as part of a 5.1 or 7.1 home cinema system. Use them as rear speakers with either Argentum 390, Argentum 370 or as front speakers with Argentum 330 on the rear, along with the Argentum 310 Base centre speaker and Argentum Sub 63 subwoofer.
Argentum 330 benefits from a high quality design with features from the higher models in the range including a sophisticated crossover and excellent speaker drivers, finished in silver to perfectly compliment the high-gloss front lacquer and clean lines. They're also improved over the old Argentum range with better cabinets and drivers that feature stronger magnets, with optional biwire speaker terminals.
How do they sound? Well, in comparison to the Argentum 320, the 330 are 3-way rather than 2-way with higher power handling allowing them to play louder and harder. Bass will also go lower, down to 35Hz rather than 40Hz with a larger woofer and they sound smoother thanks to the woofer/midrange arrangement matched perfectly to the tweeters.

Hi Terry,
The Quadral Argentum 330s are sitting either side of the tv (about 6' apart) and about 9" from the wall attached to a large sideboard (with seismic wax on their base). Like the attached.
First impressions after a couple of hours watching tv (via receiver):
Good for what I wanted them for, main compact front speakers in an AV set up.
Sound - they sound very clear, accurate, balanced across a good range at our sitting distance of 3m
- perfect in the mid speech ranges, perfect for our tv, receiver, various dvd and satellite players. I will also be playing a dedicated cd player through them.
-the 3 way configuration and cross overs seem to be just right for that clear even response over a wide range. They are probably more accurate than what I usually listen to.
- I wanted something that was flatter across the range so you wouldn't get blown out of your seat by the larger speakers when music came on during movies and also provide good speech enunciation. They do this perfectly.
-The base is there, audible and accurate and not too bad for a small box
Other comments - well made, solid, heavy for their size and rear vented.
I am used to larger speakers and I have had a selection of Kef transmissions, Kef Carltons, Goodman etc.
I have these in a different area with a cd player and an amp if I want to really get the house shaking.
I will have a good play with them on the weekend. I have a set of music that I use to test speakers and if I get an hour to myself I will sit there and have a really good listen.
But at this stage they are a nice clear accurate speaker that provides what I was looking for.
Thanks for sourcing then for me.
Regards
Allan
