Essentially the same design as the PI-1, but with a more powerful power supply. A lot of effort was put into developing an amplifier that delivers high-end performance at a modest price point.

The PI-2 has a rated output of 2x 100w @ 8ohms, 2x 150w @ 4ohms & 2x 220w @ 2ohms.

The Electrocompaniet PI-1 and PI-2 are our new fully balanced entry-level stereo integrated amplifiers. In the development of these amplifiers the focus has been to maintain the operating principles and sound quality of the classic line amplifiers, and at the same time reduce manufacturing costs. To achieve this we have utilized modern surface mount technology (SMT) and optimized the amplifiers for our modern SMT production line. The result is modern looking high performance amplifiers with superb control and dynamics.

The newly developed protection circuitry protects the PI-1 and PI-2 against high temperature, DC offset and short circuit at the output. This protection has no negative influence on the sound quality what so ever. We have even removed the relay at the output to reduce the number of contact points between the amplifier and the loudspeakers.

Both the PI-1 and PI-2 features the same digital volume control as used in the EC4.8/EC4.9 preamplifiers. The bright and clear VFD-display is readable from the listing position and shows the input source and volume setting.

Both amplifiers have two fully balanced (XLR) inputs and two single ended (RCA) inputs. Volume and input sources can easily be navigated via the four navigator buttons on the front panel, or from the remote control.

The PI-2 is equipped with a oversized linear power supply with a 400VA toroidal transformer and a capacitor storage bank of 80.000 uF.

I would like to purchase the Electrocompaniet PI-2 integrated amp

Hi Terry
Thanks for carting me to and from the airport the other day, I really enjoyed myself.
What a pleasure it is to deal with someone who obviously has a passion for what they are doing and who wants to ensure that the customer obtains the gear that is correct for them rather than just trying to make a sale

Normally after having been to a demo I have come away with a clear idea of the item I wanted but in this case I left with a dilemma…which amp to choose from. I suppose that this is a nice dilemma!!

So here goes

• TRI 35SE & 88SE… although I liked these, after hearing the reference series TRI-TRX-1 & TRX-P6L pre / power combo I guess I would just want more in a very short time so I will pass on these.

• TRI TRX-P6L Reference power amp…if I was to purchase this and use the pre out on my current amp the same comment as above would apply

• TRI TRX-1 & TRX-P6L Reference pre / power. combo....ideally this is the combination that I would want but I do not really want to spend that amount of money (I know you mentioned that I could finance this but this is not part of the consideration as paying cash is not a problem)

• Electrocompaniet Prelude PI-2... I was impressed with this amp’s ability to play music rather than HI-FI (normally I would select valves before solid state) especially at the price point. (note: replaced a Music Fidelity integrated amp)

So in summary I would like to purchase the Electrocompaniet PI-2 integrated amp. If you can email me an invoice and your bank account details then I can transfer the money
