Electrocompaniet PD-1 wireless DAC awarded 5 Stars in DAC shoot out.
In a Hi-Fi Choice group test competing with DAC’s from Cyrus, Lavry, M2Tech, Moon and NuForce the Electrocompaniet PD 1 DAC won.
It was another excellent review on our newest DAC and the conclusion is:
“A fine DAC by any reckoning with useful features”.
I have been a rather reluctant convert over to digital / wireless music etc however acknowledging the issues around buying CDs going forward etc we wanted to find a suitable solution for our customers that would still ensure they could maintain their passion and joy for thier music around downloaded music etc.
Electrocompaniet out of Norway comes with an enviable reputation for being able to offer engaging, organic music so we imported their new PD-1 DAC that can be made wireless by the inclusion of their matching EMS-1 Music Streamer.
Setting up the PD-1 DAC wirelessly for the first time, was all very straight forward, simply plug the matching EMS-1 Music Streamer unit into the computer USB outlet and the PD-1 DAC into the integrated amp inplace of the CD player and it all comes together without fuss or bother, this is my sort of component.
The of course award speakers for itself other than to say we are all simply amazed at how engaging the music remained, it lost none of its soul, the slightly embarrassing thing being that it also very obviously out played a number of well regarded CD players too, something we were not prepared for, suffice to say I have utilized the PD-1 DAC wirelessly in recent system demos and everyone to date has commented very positively on the value its bought to the experience.
I think we now have a very nice solution on hand for those who are looking to take the download music path.
